ROLLS-ROYCE MOTOR CARS PASADENA CHINESE NEW YEAR: YEAR OF THE MONKEY 2016

On Saturday, February 6, 2016, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Pasadena (RRMCP) celebrated the Chinese New Year-Year of the Monkey at Rusnak/Pasadena located at 297 West Colorado Blvd., Pasadena, California.  With over 250 VIP guests in attendance, the event was invite-only. With a top-shelf whisky tasting- Hennessy XO and free-flowing Moet & Chandon Champagne Bar along with a specialty drink inspired by the Chinese New Year- Fire Monkey Cocktail -poured into a Rolls-Royce Ice Sculpture. RRMCP created the “Chinese Cigar Lounge”, Pasadena’s only pop-up cigar lounge -an exclusive event celebrating cigars with cigar rollers.  Guests were also treated to a Lion Dance. Festive, colorful and loud, the lion dance symbolizes celebration, new beginnings and is believed to bring good luck and prosperity.  “We wanted to do something that would show our Chinese guests (and non-Chinese guests) how much we value their customs and culture. This created a cultural and colorful contribution to the Rolls-Royce showroom in Pasadena,” articulated Andrew Arizmendi, General Manager RRMCP.  Two live monkeys, with their trainers, roamed the dealership and energized the guests. Photographs were constantly being snapped due to the abundance of exquisite subjects. “This is the ‘Year of the Monkey’, which is predicted to be lively, prosperous and progressive. It’s a good time to be creative and take risks,” stated Liz Rusnak Arizmendi, Vice President Public Relations of the Rusnak Auto Group. Miss Asia USA 2016 revealed the 2117 Rolls-Royce Dawn in front of the excited crowd. Food Network’s and Celebrity Chef, Tanya Jackson, The Rustic Gourmet, served tuna tartar on crispy wontons with citrus vinegarette, wildflour bilinis with crème fraiche smoked Alaskan salmon with imperial golden Osetra caviar, baby lamb chops lollypops with mint infused yogurt and plenty of Chinese sweets and custom fortune cookies with a special Rolls-Royce messages to incite the ‘driving’ palate. Celebrity DJ, Herick Serna, also known as “Happen,” rocked the showroom. The guests in attendance had quite an evening celebrating the Chinese New Year!!
