After a rough few years of Ford losing market share, Volvo was put up for sale, with several larger brands, such as Volkswagen, interested in the acquisition. 
• 2010 – Today: The Geely Holding Group, the parent company of Geely Automobile, bought the Volvo brand in March 2010. Since then, the brand has expanded its market, adding electrified models and more Polestar performance models into the lineup. The brand has announced plans to fully electrify their vehicles by 2030.
